2021 Vidrine Family Reunion T-shirts

The annual Vidrine Reunion is less than a month away, on September 18 at the Ville Platte Civic Center! The deadline to order t-shirts is Tuesday, August 31, 2021**

This year, we’re focusing on Jean Baptiste Pierre Vidrine (1762-1830), the first son of Jean Baptiste Lapaise de Vedrines and Elisabeth de Moncharvaux, so the T-shirt design is meant to reflect this:

The Mississippi River runs south from the Fort de Chartres, IL (where he was born) to New Orleans (where the Védrines family first arrived at when they came down) and then Pointe Coupee (where he lived as an infant) each indicated by a dot. To the west is Bayou Courtableau and the Opelousas Post where he grew up as a young man. And the house to the west of the Opelousas Post represents the place he finally settled at the Quartier dit du Baton Rouge (Tate Cove, LA) on the 400 acre plantation he established. All of it in a Fleur de Lis, indicating the French roots of our Family.

2- The shirt will be Heather Forest Green reflecting the green trees of the area where he settled and died at.
