The design contains Jean Baptiste Pierre Lapaise de Vedrines’ cattle brand (registered in 1770) and reflects his cattle farming which he began when the family finally settled at the Opelousas Post (near the place the reunion will be held). The sapphire blue reflects his service in the French Marines, which brought him to LA.
