On Saturday, November 12, 206, the Vidrine Family gathered for another Reunion at Washington Community Center in Washington, LA…the closest possible location to the land originally settled by Jean Baptiste Lapaise de Védrines! As a Reunion for all who descend from Jean Baptiste Lapaise de Védrines and Elisabeth de Moncharvaux, it’s a little different from most Family Reunions. One person remarked: “Unlike most Family Reunions where you know everyone in your family…I know hardly anyone here though I know they’re my cousins!” Indeed, 300 or more people gathered to visit family members they already knew or to meet new ones, to share information and family history, and to learn more about their roots. A delicious gumbo was cooked by Vidrines, and a very enjoyable day was had by all. Thanks to all who made the 2016 Vidrine Family Reunion a great success! Enjoy the photos!
